The process of "waiting all day for the Sunday Night" becomes a little bit more tedious for Pittsburgh Steelers fans when rumors on Chase Claypool continue to mount.

With the NFL trade deadline quickly approaching, everyone is talking about whether or not the wide receiver is being dealt. According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Steelers' phones are ringing but their ears are not.

Claypool hasn't produced that much this season except for last weekend's game versus the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. A seven-catch, 96-yard performance could prove to be a breakthrough for the Steelers receiver who had not a single game with over 50 yards all season long.

But even HC Mike Tomlin refused to paint it as a breakout game during the week instead noting that it's all about what he does next. It seems like whatever he ends up doing next, including on tonight's showdown versus the Miami Dolphins, will come while wearing the black and yellow.

Although Pittsburgh is in rebuild mode, the team would be very smart to not move on from Claypool. After all, with the question marks surrounding the former second-round pick and an overloaded WR trade market could result in unimpressive offers.

The alternative seems like a much better option. 1) Keep finding out if a player with the athletic traits needed to be successful in the long term can get it together. And 2) More options for Kenny Pickett!

The Steelers are right to not trade Chase Claypool unless the voice at the other end of the line makes an offer they can't refuse.
