Steelers: T.J. Watt’s latest feat places him in the GOAT conversation

The Pittsburgh Steelers may very well have the best defensive player in the NFL on their team.
T.J. Watt is currently second in the league in sacks (8) and he didn't even record one against the Rams.
Yet his impact was felt elsewhere and officially placed him in a category most can only dream of.
T.J. Watt recorded the seventh interception of his career on this play. Pair that with a career sack total of 85.5, and T.J. Watt joins Pro Football Hall of Famer and arguably greatest defender ever, Lawrence Taylor as the only player to record 70+ sacks and seven interceptions within their first seven seasons.
To even be mentioned amongst LT is surely flattering, but to have accomplished something only he had until Sunday, shows the level that T.J. Watt is playing at. He has become otherworldly in his talents, something Rams' HC Sean McVay, and his QB Matt Stafford even acknowledged post-game:
“Bottom line is that we had hitches on the outside for a little option route from the three spot and seams at the two spot," McVay explained about the play from above. "We obviously thought it was going to be a single high. Steelers CB Levi Wallace rolled up as a cloud and got WR Cooper (Kupp) working an option on the mike and you don't feel that overlap from the hook player when [Steelers LB T.J. Watt] ended up dropping out of there and that's what led to the turnover.”
"It was a good play by (Steelers OLB) T.J (Watt)," said Matt Stafford. "I obviously did not see him and thought I put it into a good spot and then all of a sudden he flashed in front and made a great play. He's a big-time player, made a big-time play."
And that he is. These are the glory days for both T.J. Watt and the Steelers fans who appreciate his greatness. He's fully fledged into his prime and is likely at the peak of his powers for the next three to four seasons.
So enjoy it now, because the rest of the league can't wait for him to stop pestering their offenses.
