When you want things in life, sometimes you have to act fast to get them.

And for the Pittsburgh Steelers, being third in line to get a "date' with free agent WR Mike Williams proved to be costly:

Williams Off Steelers Wish List

After being scheduled to visit with the Steelers on Thursday, I was hesitant to believe Williams would sign with the team based off of timing alone.

As hypothesized, when a team and player have mutual interest, there's a common thought that leaving without a deal simply won't happen.

That occurred in Florham Park, New Jersey, with Willaims and the Jets coming to terms on a one-year deal worth up to $15 million.

Now the "up to" part is intriguing because we will have to wait and see what Williams' base value is, but under no circumstances was Pittsburgh going to shelve that much out for a one-year prove-it deal.

In all, the WR options on the market may continue to dwindle for Pittsburgh, but with a heavy draft, and potential trade candidate lurking, the Steelers should have George Pickens' partner in no time.
