Tonight’s game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Miami Dolphins feels bigger than it probably should. A frigid cold game where the Steelers will be wearing their color rush uniforms and playing on a field accompanied by legends like Ben Roethlisberger, who will stand in gold-painted endzones.
The Steelers are pulling out all the stops to increase their lead in the AFC North. That’s probably smart given the injuries at left tackle, no T.J. Watt, and question marks about how well Jaylen Warren will be able to perform. Here is the latest on his status and rookie DT Derrick Harmon ahead of Monday night.

Jaylen Warren will be able to give it a go but the Steelers’ rush defense will officially be on it’s last legs without Derrick Harmon, yet again. It’s going to take some major effort from Benton and Heyward to make up for those losses.
We have known for days that Watt would miss this game as he now rehabs from a punctured lung. The fact that Watt suffered a hole in his lung by simply aiming to recover is par for the course that has been the Steelers’ 2025 season.
It’s unclear exactly how long Watt will be sidelined, but it’s been reported that the Steelers do expect him back this season. The Steelers are just 1-11 all-time without Watt, and the game plan without him in the lineup will look very different. It will be on Nick Herbig and Alex Highsmith to get the job done in his absence.
James Pierre’s absence from the game is also a major blow to the Steelers’ defensive backfield, one that has looked much better since his insertion into the starting lineup. Asante Samuel Jr. will start in his place for the first time.
As for the good news, the Steelers will have their safety tandem of Kyle Dugger and Jalen Ramsey at full strength on Monday night after Dugger missed time with a hand injury. Darnell Washington will also suit up after passing through concussion protocol. Here’s who is out for the Dolphins.
