It's the fourth of July and the Pittsburgh Steelers are off enjoying their summer vacation.
They, like many in America, will likely tune in to the 2023 Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest, an annual event held every Independence Day on Coney Island.
So in honor of tradition, today we're going to look at the three Steelers most capable of winning a hot dog eating contest. Hope you're hungry:
The “Heavy” Favorite: James Daniels, Guard

Standing at over 6'4" and nearly 330 pounds, Daniels packs a punch that few other players on the roster are capable of.
It takes a lot of fuel to keep that engine running, meaning Daniels would be an obvious favorite in a hot dog eating contest.
The Undersized Sleeper: Calvin Austin III, WR

Despite a listed weight of 162 pounds at 5'9", something tells me Austin shouldn't be ruled out when it comes to holding his own in the eating contest.
Austin has likely been force-feeding himself for some time just to stay at a playing weight, and if the annual hot dog eating contest has shown us anything, size doesn't matter as famed Japanese competitive eater Takeru Kobayashi was the star of the show before Joe Chestnut arrived.
He competed at 125-135 pounds and stands 5'8".
The Mental Warrior: Chris Boswell, Kicker

Competitive eating takes a special kind of will from participants. The process looks to be anything but enjoyable, and likely becomes more of a mental hurdle than a physical one.
That's something kickers know all too well in the NFL and the Boz has proven to be one of the coolest cucumbers in the league when healthy, making him up for the mental battle that is a hot dog-eating contest.
