Raiders 2023 predictions find the team doing something they did three regimes ago.

This is a team that was once very respected around the NFL, and it wasn't that long ago that teams feared playing them. The early 2000s were the last time this team was one that competed for a championship because it was the last time this team won a single playoff game.

We thought that maybe last year could be the year to break that streak, just because of everything they did in the offseason – grabbing the best receiver in the league and a new coach who has been successful as an offensive coordinator before, but we were horribly wrong.

They weren't even close, and in fact, started the season 2-7, as they lost to some pretty bad teams too. They are still a ways away, but I think most of us think they can make some type of improvements in 2023 based on the things they have done, right?

I think this team is better, for sure, but not miles and miles better. One NFL analyst thinks the same too and actually has the Raiders doing something they haven't done in three regimes – since Jack Del Rio was the head coach.

Caesars Win Total: 7.5 (under -120)
Brinson Projected Record: 7-10
The Raiders might be "decent" and still just might be banged schedule-wise: the Broncos, Chiefs, and
Chargers six times is tough and they have a back-to-back home matchup against the Giants and Jets. Would've looked great two years ago! -Will Brinson, CBS Sports

Brinson has the Raiders winning seven games, which the last time they did that was in 2019 with Gruden as the head coach. He took them from 4-12 in 2018 to 7-9 in 2019. But winning 7 games means losing 10 games, something they haven't done since 2017, which is three regimes ago.

2017 was the last year of head coach Jack Del Rio, and general manager Reggie McKenzie was on his last leg. That was three regimes ago when the Raiders last lost 10 games in a season. Since then they have been able to both get better and get worse, somehow. They have been at the bottom of the barrel and have also made the playoffs since then.

This prediction of going 7-10 is better, for sure, and that's really all that matters to owner Mark Davis at this moment. But, that still isn't great. That has the Raiders finishing last in the division based on Brinson's predictions. I don't think I agree with that.

I think this team can win between 7-10 games. I think 10 games is less doable, but I also think seven wins is too low. I really think they will win 8-9 games in 2023 and they won't finish last in the division, the Broncos will.

But then again, we thought they would make the playoffs in 2022, and they didn't.
