NFL analyst has Raiders taking Will Levis in recent mock draft
The Las Vegas Raiders have a high pick in the first round of the upcoming draft, and one analyst has them going all in on one guy
The Las Vegas Raiders haven't picked this high in the draft since 2019 when they reached on Clelin Ferrell from Clemson, who is still underperforming on the team. With the draft coming up quicker than we realize, they need to make sure they don't make the same mistake at pick seven.
There is a ton of speculation on what the Raiders will target with their first pick. Will they go defense, or will they go, quarterback – both of which are huge needs for a team that finished 6-11, well under their preseason expectations.
One national analyst has the Raiders going all in at pick seven, taking a guy who they would likely start building their team around – Will Levis.
Here is what Pro Football Focus analyst Trevor Sikkema had to say about Levis at seven.
With Derek Carr out the door, the Raiders will need to invest in a quarterback Josh McDaniels can hitch his coaching wagon to. I don’t think that will come in the form of a quarterback available in free agency or via trade (don’t think they’ll make a big move for Aaron Rodgers). Levis at least gives them some significant upside to buy into. PFF Draft Guide Bottom Line: Levis' tape has so much to like from a tools and NFL-readiness standpoint, but his accuracy — or lack thereof — is borderline untenable at this point.
Sure, it makes sense because of what the Raiders need. I mean, you don't really want an entire season of Jarrett Stidham starting, even though he played very well against San Francisco. But, at the same time, their defense was atrocious and needs work ASAP.
There is one other factor too, and it's called the Aaron Rodgers saga. We still don't know where he will be going, and for some reason – Davante Adams – it seems like there is interest between the two sides.
Even if Rodgers doesn't go to Las Vegas, Levis is an interesting pick. Just being subjective, but Levis doesn't seem like he could be the guy for the Raiders.
Sikkema makes great points, but I don't see this pick happening, and I definitely don't want it to happen. I feel that they can get a good quarterback later in the draft than the first seven picks of the draft.
