The Las Vegas Raiders have not had an identity in a very long time. They have not been an offensive team that scores a ton of points but gives up a ton or a defensive team that stops other teams but doesn't score well. Instead, they have been bad at both as of late.

They used to be a team in the '80s and '90s that would just beat you and wear you down on the defensive side of the ball. Instead, now, they get beat down in the run game, as we saw in the game against the Chicago Bears.

The sad thing is the Raiders haven't had a great roster on the defensive side of the ball to work with, especially not in the last four years or so. They have had a great roster on the offensive side of the ball, yet it's still been bad, to say the least. The offense has no excuse; the defense, well, they kind of do.

The defense has been too bad for too long. There is a stat that shows just how bad they have been for the last five years. According to Paul Gutierrez of ESPN, who covers the Raiders, they did something for the first time in a while on Monday Night Football.

Here is what Gutierrez tweeted:

In addition to being Raiders' 1st Pick-6 in their last 19 games, it's actually only their 2nd Pick-6 in their last 65 games, per ESPNStatsInfo

That statistic is actually insane and unfortunate. If anything, it shows how bad the defense has truly been in the last four years or so. This team has not had a positive turnover differential since 2018, which is sad to say, and this year, they are last in turnover differential. The offense is giving the ball away too often, and the defense isn't getting the ball back enough.

Hopefully, Mark Davis, the Raiders owner, will see this stat and finally realize that enough is enough.
