The Las Vegas Raiders are in the market for a quarterback. Wait, no they aren't, they just signed Jimmy Garoppolo. But, that hasn't stopped them from saying there is a possibility they take a quarterback in this draft.
If they were to do so, everyone has their favorite guy in this draft. Some fans want Anthony Richardson, a guy who has the most athleticism at the position in the draft, and maybe in the NFL right now too. But, he is a developmental piece as things currently stand.
Some fans and media want Will Levis because he is smart and doesn't have to be a starter right away. Unfortunately for those fans, the Raiders may not get either of those guys.
One ESN analyst says based on his information the Raiders are only going to get a quarterback if two particular guys are available.
"Have done their due diligence on the group," ESPN's Todd McShay said on the Locked On Raiders Podcast. "I know that they tried to move up to that number one spot and get a deal done. Carolina did. And so my information is that if it's not Young or Stroud, they're just going to try to build up their roster in other places."
McShay is basically saying that from what he is hearing, the only way they grab a quarterback is if it's C.J. Stroud or Bryce Young, whether that's trading up or those guys falling to them.
But, as we all know, there are four teams ahead of the Raiders that need a quarterback, and both of those guys are the two best in the draft. So, the Raiders would have to likely trade up to grab them.
Young and Stroud will not be available at seven, which means they should go offensive line or defense, something we have all been calling for some time now.
