Could we see Les Snead return to his old ways for one more Super Bowl run with Matthew Stafford?

The Los Angeles Rams are still reeling from a bitter, brutal defeat in the NFC Championship game, missing out on a Super Bowl run by a matter of inches. This defeat was made even worse by suffering it at the hands of an NFC West rival in the Seattle Seahawks.

Head coach Sean McVay said the loss affected him so badly that he might not even watch the Super Bowl this year. Matthew Stafford was apparently in a rare emotional state after the game, and the rest of the team is still in a state of emotional shellshock.

For general manager Les Snead, however, it seems like the loss might have served as a call to action and wake-up call. Instead of getting upset, however, Snead seems to have channeled his emotions into an honest assessment of himself and what he needs to do to get the team to hold another Lombardi.

At his press conference on Wednesday, Snead hinted that we could see a return to his old ways next season.

Is F*** Them Picks Les Snead back?

As general manager, Les Snead has carved out a legacy of being an aggressive trader, willing to wheel and deal with any team to add just about any player. From 2016 to 2021, the Rams made aggressive trades, including the moves for players like Jared Goff, Jalen Ramsey, Matthew Stafford, and Von Miller, that cost the Rams a great deal of picks.

This aggressive style earned him a meme of “F*** them picks”, a phenomenon Snead loves and even has shirts and mugs with the meme printed on them. I’m sure he’ll take becoming a meme in exchange for two Super Bowl trips and a Super Bowl victory in that time span.

However, ever since that Super Bowl victory, Snead has switched gears. The Rams have instead accumulated picks in an effort to cheaply rebuild the roster. After a down 2022 season, LA has ripped off three straight playoff seasons. Yet, despite elite play from Matthew Stafford and the heroics of players like Puka Nacua and Jared Verse, the Rams have yet to get over that playoff hump.

While most teams would kill to be in the Rams’ shoes, the Rams know they only have so long with Matthew Stafford, and internally realize their window of success is closing. Now, they have to do whatever it takes to get one more run.

If Snead turns back the clock, the Rams do have two first-round picks this year that they could use as trade fodder, particularly in a rather weak 2026 NFL Draft class. The Rams don’t have a lot of roster needs, but the holes they do have are extraordinarily wide, and they’ve always favored top-end talent over depth there.

Could we see a return of F*** Them Picks Les Snead? It’s something that needs to happen if the Rams want to see another Super Bowl with Matthew Stafford under center.
