Will the Rams' offensive line hold up?
At the core of the Rams' problems in 2022 was the offensive line protecting front for Matthew Stafford. The team's starting offensive line isn't an inspiring group but the team's issues last year went well beyond that. The unit was so banged up that the Rams had to play 11 different combinations throughout the season,
Left tackle Joe Noteboom will seek to set the tone after playing only six games last year. He gets a chance to prove everyone wrong with a strong 2023 season. Rookie Steve Avila will be next to him at left guard, so that's probably the side of the offensive line fans want to follow closely during the game.
Who stands up in Cooper Kupp's absence?
This isn't just a question of who's the best player but also what's Sean McVay's plan for the game. The good news is many of these players are experienced in his scheme with Van Jefferson and Tutu Atwell potentially starting on the outside.
But what about tight end Tyler Higbee? He could be the go-to target of Stafford on Sunday. You know he's going to start against you in your fantasy football league.
3 Players to watch
- DT Aaron Donald: I know, I picked the most obvious name I could've but this is where the Rams are at. They'll need their biggest star to stand up in the biggest way possible against a weak Seahawks offensive line. With two developing tackles, don't be surprised if Donald gets some snaps on the edge.
- CB Cobie Durant: The Rams will likely start second-year cornerback Cobie Durant at nickel and he'll get a big test in first-round rookie Jaxon Smith-Njigba. How he performs could make or break the game.
- QB Matthew Stafford: Yup. Another easy answer. But this game will likely come down to one or two big plays. We can talk about Higbee, Atwell, and Jefferson if we want. The Rams need that big play from Stafford for a chance to win in Week 1.
