Every season there are plenty of rumors around the NFL trade deadline. Most of the time – they are not reputable.
That was the case with a recent 'report' about a potential trade between the New Orleans Saints and Minnesota Vikings. The falsified tweets regarding the deal discussed a trade of QB Jameis Winston to Minnesota.
Nick Underhill confirmed that the scenario never occurred. The Saints and Vikings were not in talks, nor close to a deal, for Winston's services.
Golson's tweets got a lot of traction on X, unfortunately. His main post regarding the deal got over 20,000 likes on the platform and multiple responses from noteworthy people around the NFL.
Overall, it was another lesson for folks to check their sources. Golson, along with many other accounts on Twitter (or X), just make up 'rumors' in hopes that they will be correct at some point.
The Saints don't seem inclined to trade Winston before the trade deadline on Tuesday, whatsoever.
