Rób Gronkowski might have a party-boy image, but that doesn't mean he plans to paint the town red on New Year's Eve.
In fact, it will be quite the opposite for Gronk next Sunday night when he rings in the new year.
The former Tampa Bay Buccaneers/New England Patriots tight end joined Up and Adams on Wednesday and he made it clear that he thinks New Year's Eve is for amateurs.
"Not really," said Gronk when asked if he's a New Year's guy. "I like to just sit at home and watch the New Year's ball get dropped right on TV. It's a lot of mayhem. It's a lot going on when you go out for New Year's. There's a lot of amateurs out there and I'm not an amateur, Kay. I'm a guy that sits at home and just chills out and just relaxes."
Gronk is hardly the first famous partier to suggest that New Year's Eve is "amateur night".
The late Jimmy Buffett said in his book A Pirate looks at 50 that he considers New Year's Eve a night for amateurs that isn't worth the trouble.
So there you have it. If you go out on New Year's Eve, consider yourself an amateur in the eyes of some of the pop culture's biggest party-boys.
