New Orleans Saints quarterback Derek Carr is dealing with two injuries after the team's Week 10 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. New Orleans was on their bye week in Week 11, but his ailments are still affecting him as they enter game week in Week 12.
Carr remains in concussion protocol, according to head coach Dennis Allen.
Carr will need to clear protocol in order to play on Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons. If he cannot, Jameis Winston will get the start for the Saints in a major division rivalry game for both teams.
Winston entered for Carr against Minnesota in the second half, throwing for two touchdowns and two interceptions.
Carr is also dealing with a shoulder injury that he sustained in the team's Week 10 loss. It will be an uphill climb for him to get onto the field, but don't rule it out yet.
Whoever starts at QB will be without WR Michael Thomas in Week 12. He is dealing with a knee injury that will keep him out for some time.
