The New Orleans Saints got the job done in Week 1. The Tennessee Titans gave them a run for their money, but Ryan Tannehill's struggles were just too costly.
The Titans QB threw three interceptions and never looked to be comfortable against the black and gold. Tannehill finished the game 16/34 for 198 passing yards and no touchdowns. He was sacked three times and pressured often.
Tannehill recorded a career-worst 28.8 passer rating today against the Saints. It was arguably the worst overall performance of his decade-long NFL career.
Marshon Lattimore, Paulson Adebo, and Marcus Maye all got picks for New Orleans. In actuality, they could have had five or six of them total, too. The Saints dropped a few potential interceptions in the secondary.
Regardless, the defense had a fantastic day to start the regular season for the Saints. They saved the offense, who started off slow and sputtered at times due to offensive line play.
The Saints will look to build on this impressive defensive performance next week against rookie QB Bryce Young and the Carolina Panthers.
