The New Orleans Saints are working their salary cap magic once again in 2024. They have avenues and are pulling out all of the stops to clear their cap deficit. New Orleans has made another move.
According to Field Yates, the Saints restructured defensive lineman Nathan Shepherd's contract recently.
With the move, they clear just above $3 million in cap space for 2024. The move follows restructures for Derek Carr, Erik McCoy, and Cesar Ruiz over the past handful of days.
New Orleans got good news last week with the announcement of the expected salary cap, too. Of every NFL team, they may be the most thankful for the higher expected total.
The 2024 NFL salary cap will be $255.4 million per team.
The Saints have plenty more to do, but they continue to chip away at what was the largest deficit in the league. Now, the Buffalo Bills hold that title – for now.

They had to make the move.
