The New Orleans Saints are on their bye week, but they remain busy. No, there is no coaching change – shocker, right?

Instead, they made a couple of important roster moves on Tuesday afternoon.

The Saints added wide receiver Keith Kirkwood to the roster after waiving fullback Adam Prentice.

Kirkwood is well-known in New Orleans. He's made multiple stops with the Saints, and they have always liked his run blocking ability. Kirkwood made some good grabs in this past preseason, too.

For Prentice, the emergence of defensive tackle Khalen Saunders as the team's red zone fullback decreased his offensive value. Not to mention, he had a costly fumble against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers earlier this season.

Expect to see plenty more of Saunders going forward – alongside Taysom Hill, especially. Fans love that combo, and it has worked well.

As for the Kirkwood move, it may point to an extended absence for wide receiver Michael Thomas. He suffered a knee injury in Week 10's loss to the Minnesota Vikings.

On Monday, Dennis Allen said that he did not expect the injury to be season-ending, but it was 'fairly significant' for MT. That's worth keeping an eye on for Thomas and the Saints.
