The New Orleans Saints are grabbing another addition for their defense. According to Ian Rapoport, the Saints are signing pass rusher Terrell Lewis to their practice squad.
This moves comes after the news that Payton Turner will miss an extended period of time with a turf toe injury.
Lewis was not retained by the Chicago Bears after a solid preseason for them. He was expected to stay on their practice squad to stay within the organization, but he did not. That could have been a legit mistake for them.
He could be an intriguing piece for the Saints. Lewis totaled six sacks in thirty game for the Los Angeles Rams from 2020-2022. He started seven games in that span.
For the Saints, he will be a depth pass rusher. With Turner out, Lewis could be a game day elevation from the PS to provide experience on the DL off the edge. At 6'5 and 260 pounds, his size mimics Turner's.
Keep an eye on him for the Saints.
