The San Francisco 49ers are entering one of the most pivotal drafts in the franchise's recent memory. They lost multiple key veteran starters this offseason and have to figure out how to return to being one of the best teams in the league after a down year in 2025.
With the 2025 NFL Draft less than two weeks away, the 49ers are finishing up their final pre-draft Top 30 visits with prospects in the class. A recent one included them hosting a prospect whose draft stock is trending upward at the perfect time.
49ers host Washington State WR Kyle Williams for a pre-draft visit

Kyle Williams just finished up his fifth and final collegiate season. He began his career at UNLV, where he spent three years before transferring to Washington State in 2023 for his final two years. He had some decent years at UNLV and a solid first year at Washington State, but his far and away best season came in 2024. He set his career high for receiving yards with 1,198 and receiving touchdowns with 14.
At the beginning of the cycle, Williams was considered a sleeper at WR in the class, with many projecting his draft range to be in the third or fourth round. Teams in the NFL seem to be waking up, though, as Williams has been one of the biggest draft risers in the last few months. Many (including myself) now expect him to be selected in the second round. The 49ers own the 43rd pick in the second round, and if Williams is there, he could be a fantastic fit at WR to help fill the void left by the team trading Deebo Samuel to the Washington Commanders this offseason. Especially because of his route running and yards-after-catch ability.
NFL personnel executive suggests a risky path for the 49ers to keep Brock Purdy around without giving him a big extension
Purdy is expected to get a new deal this offseason
