The 49ers did not have Brandon Aiyuk available for their Week 3 win over the Giants. The early signs are they will have him at their disposal when they host the Cardinals in Week 4.

Aiyuk missed last Thursday's home opener because of a shoulder injury suffered on the first series of the Week 2 victory over the Rams.

But the wide receiver, who was NFC Offensive Player of the Week in Week 1, was spotted at practice in the portion open to the media on Monday. However, his fellow star wideout Deebo Samuel was not seen participating after hurting his ribs against New York. Cornerback Ambry Thomas, who missed the Giants game with a knee injury, was working on a side field along with receiver Jauan Jennings and linebackers Dre Greenlaw and Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles, who are both dealing with ankle issues.

Aiyuk did practice in a limited capacity last week, with head coach Kyle Shanahan indicating the wideout would have had a much better chance of playing had the Giants game been on Sunday.

Having had additional time to recover, Aiyuk appears on track to play against the Cardinals, though the likelihood of that happening will not become apparent until Shanahan speaks to the media on Wednesday.

Aiyuk had eight catches for 129 yards and two touchdowns agains the Steelers in Week 1. He fought through his shoulder issue in Week 2 but was limited to three catches for 43 yards.

Now seemingly set to return to action, Aiyuk can resume his efforts to build on his 1,000-yard season in 2022.
