Brock Purdy continues to stack hugely impressive performances, and more recognition came his way after the San Francisco 49ers quarterback's excellent performance in last Sunday's win over the Seattle Seahawks.
Purdy racked up a career-high 368 passing yards with two touchdowns and an interception as the 49ers improved to 10-3 with a 28-16 victory against the Seahawks.
It was Purdy's seventh successive game with a completion percentage of over 70, becoming only the fourth player to compose such a streak in a single season. On top of that, he tied his idol Dan Marino by recording his 12th game with a passer rating of 110 or higher, the third-most by a quarterback in his first two seasons.
His reward, beyond the victory that moved the 49ers up to the one seed in the NFC, was his third FedEx Air Player of the Week award.
No other quarterback this season has earned that honor three times.
Such individual acclaim will be of little concern to Purdy as he attempts to help the 49ers to a first-round bye in the postseason.
But his unique hat-trick is further evidence of why Purdy is in the thick of the MVP conversation and why it may be difficult to deny him that most prestigious of honors should the 49ers indeed end the regular season atop their conference.
