The San Francisco 49ers wrap up a letdown year on Sunday when they visit the Arizona Cardinals.

There isn't much intrigue in the matchup with both teams out of the playoff hunt and with the 49ers extremely banged up.

San Francisco's backup quarterback Joshua Dobbs will get the start with Brock Purdy out, and Dobbs has the style of game to make a meaningless contest an entertaining watch.

Unsurprisingly given the lack of stakes, it's not a game that is going to be seen by much of the country.

The 49ers were surprisingly competitive in front of a national audience during their Week 17 loss to the Detroit Lions. Nobody expected them to prevail in a rematch of last season's NFC Championship Game, but they can afford to have higher hopes of a closing victory in a game that will be seen by substantially fewer people.
