49ers star Deebo Samuel says the quiet part out loud in a recent interview
San Francisco 49ers star Deebo Samuel told the world the real reason the Niners lost.
It's clear, San Francisco 49ers star Deebo Samuel, still isn't over the Niners' 31-7 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC Championship game.
Recently Samuel told Complex there was "no question" San Francisco was the best team in the NFC in 2022. And he also claimed that the Niners only lost to Philadelphia because Brock Purdy went down on the first series and backup Josh Johnson was knocked out of the game with a concussion.
"We lost because we played with 10 people," Samuel said.
The good news is the Niners and Eagles are the clear offseason favorites to compete in another NFC Championship game. Meaning, Samuel will have. chance to back up his claim that San Francisco is the best team in the NFC.
The biggest hold-up for San Francisco, however, is health. Samuel knows that as well.
"We just gotta stay healthy, man," he said. "We stay healthy, and the sky's the limit."
Samuel also threw in some smack talk when he was describing the Eagles. He claimed that Philadelphia is the "most hated" team in the NFL. The main reason is the trash talk from the team and its fans that gets annoying, Samuel said.
"All the trash talk coming from the Eagles fan base and the players, you just get tired of that," the receiver said.
It's clear that these two teams are on a path to another late-season clash. If everything goes as planned, it should be an intense and interesting contest.
