Deebo Samuel backed up his smack talk in style last Sunday as the San Francisco 49ers crushed the Philadelphia Eagles in the much-anticipated rematch of last season's NFC Championship Game, and he has now received deserved recognition.

Samuel exploded for 138 yards (116 receiving, 22 rushing) from scrimmage and three touchdowns in San Francisco's 42-19 rout of the Eagles. He became only the fourth receiver in NFL history with 100 receiving yards, two receiving touchdowns and a rushing touchdown in the same game.

That performance has earned him the honor of NFC Offensive Player of the Week for Week 13.

It is the third time Samuel has won the award, having done so twice during his outstanding 2021 season.

Samuel joins an extremely exclusive club, becoming only the second 49ers receiver after Jerry Rice to win Offensive Player of the Week three times. Rice won it on 12 occasions during his Hall of Fame career.

On top of that, Samuel is the sixth different 49er to win a Player of the Week award in 2023, following Brock Purdy, Christian McCaffrey, Brandon Aiyuk, Nick Bosa and Fred Warner, that list serving as an illustration of why San Francisco is widely considered to be the most talented team in the NFL.
