San Francisco 49ers cornerback Deommodore Lenoir has thrived over the last few years in part because of his physical style of play.

And he is keen to remind one former teammate of his strengths in that regard.

In an Instagram Live video over the weekend, Lenoir hit back at comments made this offseason by former 49ers receiver Willie Snead.

A pair of posts on Snead account on X (formerly Twitter), which is no longer active, indicated a desire to again play in the AFC North, having previously spent three seasons with the Baltimore Ravens. He also appeared to criticize the 49ers for not fostering competition at wideout. Snead spent most of the 2022 and 2023 seasons on the Niners' practice squad.

"All I want is to go back to a team that isn’t afraid to let guys compete for a roster spot," Snead wrote. "These last 3 years been nothing short of entitlement… Competition breedz Champions!

"Flock Fanz & WhoDat Nation alwayz been good to me. Some real ones. The Faithful have a great fan base, as well. I only wish I could have given yal more of what I had to offer."

Lenoir, however, took exception to those comments.

Asked a question about Snead on Instagram Live, he said: "I hope they bring Snead back so I can strap him up.

"He's just hurt right now, he's in his feelings. That's why he's over there talking about — What did he say, 'I want to go back to the AFC North. Different brand of football.' Come on man, you ain't going to do that. They know how he is, they know how physical he is in practice."

Despite Lenoir's apparent desire to be teammates with Snead again, the 49ers signing the veteran free agent doesn't appear likely. San Francisco has 11 wide receivers on the roster heading into minicamp having drafted Ricky Pearsall and Jacob Cowing and signed Terique Owens as an undrafted free agent. They also brought back their 2017 fifth-round pick Trent Taylor.

The likes of Taylor, Owens, Tay Martin and veteran Chris Conley are all candidates for the practice squad if they do not make the 53. San Francisco does not have a need to add at the position, meaning Lenoir probably won't get his wish for an unfriendly reunion with Snead.
