When the San Francisco 49ers acquired for edge defender Chase Young right before this year's trade deadline, they did more than just bolster their defensive line. They reunited a dynamic duo from years prior.

Nick Bosa and Young were teammates at Ohio State from 2017-18, playing a total of 15 games together for one of the best programs in college football. Bosa went second-overall in the 2019 NFL Draft. Young went second-overall a year later in 2020. Both are now 60 minutes away from winning the Super Bowl together.

They wouldn't have achieved that without some quality coaching along the way.

Following the 49ers winning the NFC Championship, Bosa and Young took the time during their locker room celebration to FaceTime Larry Johnson, their former defensive line coach at OSU.

Johnson, who's been with the Bucks since 2014, has developed four different Big Ten Defensive Lineman of the Year award winners including both Bosa and Young. He's also the associate head coach of the team.

Only one of his former d-linemen from coaching 10 years at the program has gone on to win a Super Bowl when John Simon earned a ring with the New England Patriots back in 2019.

Are Bosa and Young next? That's exactly what San Francisco's hoping for.

Bosa signed a five-year contract extension right before the regular season began, locking him in through the 2028 season. Young is in the exact opposite situation as he's scheduled to be a free agent next month.

The edge rushing duo may be playing their last game together on Sunday. The same was also likely said back in 2018.

Bosa and Young's surprising reunion has helped the Niners get back on the NFL's biggest stage. Hoisting the Lombardi Trophy together would be the ultimate full circle moment that Johnson and everyone else from Ohio State would love to see.
