The San Francisco 49ers' game with the Miami Dolphins has very little riding on it with both teams on the brink of elimination from playoff contention.

And though their meeting will be called by CBS' top broadcast crew in what can at best be described as an interesting decision, most areas of the country will not see the game on TV in the late window.

Though the 49ers have a Monday Night Football game with the Detroit Lions in Week 17, national interest in the defending NFC champions has understandably waned as they have struggled and ultimately failed to cope with the number of injuries they have sustained.

A meeting between Kyle Shanahan and his former assistant Mike McDaniel might have had more appeal had both the 49ers and Dolphins still been in the mix.

Instead, it is predominantly an afterthought in the Week 16 schedule, with the announcer pairing of Jim Nantz and Tony Romo the one thing that gives it any kind of prominence.
