The San Francisco 49ers are going to have to be on top of things when it comes to navigating the 2023 NFL Draft. 

That's because the cupboard is literally bare when it comes to picking in the top rounds of the draft. The blockbuster trades for quarterback Trey Lance and running back Christian McCaffrey have left the team with zero picks in the first two rounds. 

They also have zero fourth round picks.

But, the 49ers do have three straight picks in the third round, which makes life a little better. Teams can find solid players in the third round – even if it's the back end. 

Regardless, let's take a look at the full slate of 49ers picks in the 2023 NFL Draft:

4. Round 5, Pick 157
5. Round 5, Pick 166
6. Round 5, Pick 173 (compensatory)
7. Round 6, Pick 216 (compensatory)
8. Round 7, Pick 224
9. Round 7, Pick 249
10. Round 7, Pick 255 (compensatory)

Per Over the Cap, Nos. 173, 216, and 255 are the 49ers' projected compensatory selections for the losses of defensive lineman D.J. Jones, EDGE Arden Key, and cornerback K'Waun Williams, respectively. 

10 draft picks is a great spot to be in. It's just unfortunate the 49ers don't pick until No. 99. But, as we've seen in the past, this front office isn't afraid to make a splash move if it makes sense and helps the team win.

But, no matter how you look at it, John Lynch and co. have their work cut out for them and it'll be interesting to see how this plays out in April.
