Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Kadarius Toney is "not expected" to play in Super Bowl LVIII, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported on the morning of the big game.
The latest KC update on Toney has San Francisco 49ers fans everywhere extremely disappointed this morning to see that he won't be active.
Toney had a disastrous 2023 regular season as he battled through injuries and harsh criticism for his mistakes on and off the field, including a brutal offsides penalty against the Bills, several dropped perfect passes, and most recently a dramatic Instagram Live rant.
49ers Fans React to Kadarius Toney Update
49ers fans were only hoping that Toney would see action on Super Bowl Sunday and continue his more harm-than-good antics.
"There goes the 9ers hopes to win," one fan reacted.
"That's one less defensive score for the Niners," a fan wrote.
"Huge blow for the Niners," another fan responded.
"Kadarius Toney isn’t expected to play… There goes my 49ers bet," another fan wrote.
"KC got this one in the bag now. Toney was going to be SF best hope," a fan chimed in.
"49ers chances of winning just got slimmer," one fan joked.
"But, who will line up offsides for the Chiefs and/or drop key passes for them if he doesn't play?" a fan reacted.
"Chiefs WR Kadarius Toney is OUT today. Huge blow for the 49ers. It'll be tough for them to overcome this one," another fan wrote.
While one might jokingly say that it's a slight loss for the 49ers, it could also be a gain for them considering he was the one to score a big-time touchdown in the Chiefs' Super Bowl win over the Eagles last year.
Don't be like Toney and miss all of the action on Sunday night: kickoff for Super Bowl LVIII is at 6:30 p.m. ET on CBS.
