The San Francisco 49ers began the week with concerns over two of the most valuable players on the team ahead of their NFC West clash with the Arizona Cardinals.

Those concerns have now been alleviated.

Having missed the first two practices of the week, All-Pros George Kittle and Fred Warner returned to the field on Friday.

Kittle was dealing with a rib injury while Warner suffered an ankle injury that kept him out of the entire second half of the Week 4 win over the New England Patriots.

Despite each being listed as questionable, they now both appear in line to play against a Cardinals team that figures to provide a stern test despite their blowout loss to the Washington Commanders

However, the 49ers will be without two players who have played significant snaps on defense this season.

Defensive end Yetur Gross-Matos (knee) and Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles (calf) have both been ruled out. Cornerback Isaac Yiadom, who has served as the 49ers' third corner, is questionable.

Wide receiver Chris Conley is doubtful with an oblique injury and fellow wideout Jacob Cowing is questionable with a shoulder injury.

There is better news on the defensive line. Defensive tackles Jordan Elliott (knee) and Kevin Givens (tricep) do not have an injury designation going into the game, while fellow interior lineman Kalia Davis is listed as questionable. Davis, who was placed on injured reserve after suffering a knee injury in the first preseason game, has practiced in full all week and head coach Kyle Shanahan said he expects to activate him to the 53-man roster to face Arizona.

Dee Winters will likely take Flannigan-Fowles' spot at SAM linebacker after being cleared to play despite an ankle injury, while All-Pro safety Talanoa Hufanga is also off the injury report and ready to return from the ankle problem that kept him out of Week 4.
