There wasn't much good news for the San Francisco 49ers in their Week 6 loss to the Cleveland Browns, but an update on Deebo Samuel's injury provided lessened at least some of the frustration.

Samuel left the game in the first quarter with a shoulder injury and did not return.

His absence proved telling as San Francisco's offense struggled mightily against a vaunted Cleveland defense, the 49ers' eventually succumbing to a 19-17 loss on Jake Moody's missed would-be game-winning field goal.

But the 49ers may not have to cope without him for very long, with The Score's Jordan Schultz reporting X-rays on the injury came back negative.

Samuel will get an MRI scan, but Schultz posted on X (formerly Twitter) that the 49ers believe he "will be fine" and that the injury is not considered serious.

With Samuel and Christian McCaffrey on the sideline with injuries, the 49ers were limited to just 3.9 yards per play by the Browns' defense.
