The San Francisco 49ers are working on a tight schedule ahead of their Thanksgiving clash with the Seattle Seahawks, and they may have to shuffle their offensive line around again at short notice.

Kyle Shanahan spoke to the media on Tuesday as the 49ers prepare for a massive primetime clash that could ultimately prove decisive in the battle for the NFC West.

And the Niners head coach had mixed news on the injuries to the players in the trenches in his pre-practice report.

49ers pre-practice injury report

DNP: G Spencer Burford (knee) S Talanoa Hufanga (knee, season-ending injured reserve)

Limited: G Aaron Banks (toe), DT Javon Hargrave (thumb), CB Shemar Jean-Charles (shoulder), WR Ray-Ray McCloud (rib)

Injury report observations

After missing the last two games with turf toe, Aaron Banks is set to return to practice and "has a chance" to play.

His presence would be particularly significant given the knee injury to starting right guard Spencer Burford, which cropped up on Monday's estimated practice report.

The issue is not a long-term one, with Shanahan indicating Burford would have a chance to play were the game being held on a Sunday.

Veteran Jon Feliciano has started at left guard in Banks' absence, and Shanahan refused to say if he would flip to the right side in Tuesday's practice.

That would appear to be the logical move, assuming Banks is able to play. The 49ers signed left guard Ben Bartch from the Jacksonville Jaguars practice squad after placing safety Talanoa Hufanga on season-ending injured reserve, but the game will likely come too soon for him. If Banks is out for a third game, veteran Jesse Davis would appear to be the favorite to be elevated from the practice squad to start at right guard.

There seems to be little concern surrounding the other injuries, the most significant of which is the thumb injury to defensive tackle Javon Hargrave, whom the 49ers hope will cause huge problems for Seattle from the defensive tackle spot. Hargrave's partnership with Arik Armstead has rejuvenated an interior pass rush that was dormant in 2022.

Hargrave (34) and Armstead (33) have combined for 67 pressures, per Pro Football Focus. Last season, Armstead was the only 49ers interior defensive lineman to record more than 20.
