It isn't clear yet whether Nick Bosa will be able to play in the San Francisco 49ers' Week 12 clash with the Green Bay Packers.

The 2022 Defensive Player of the Year is dealing with injuries to both hips/obliques and will be monitored throughout the week.

Amid doubt over his status, the 49ers made a move at the edge rusher position, bringing back a familiar face.

Per Tom Pelissero, the 49ers have signed defensive end Jonathan Garvin back to their practice squad.

A former Packer who enjoyed a strong preseason with the 49ers, Garvin failed to make the 53-man roster. He was signed to the practice squad in October before being released again later last month.

Now he is back once again, and could potentially get a chance to make an impact against his former team if Bosa is unable to go.

The 49ers have Leonard Floyd, Yetur Gross-Matos, Sam Okuayinonu and Robert Beal Jr. as the other defensive ends on the 53-man roster. They also have Alex Barrett on the practice squad.

Bosa leads the 49ers with seven sacks. Floyd has 4.5 and Okuayinonu three. Gross-Matos registered his first sack as a 49er in last Sunday's defeat to the Seattle Seahawks on his return from a knee injury.
