The San Francisco 49ers are getting Christian McCaffrey back for their Week 10 game with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and they will also have the services of defensive end Nick Bosa.
Bosa had been listed as questionable for the key NFC clash because of a hip pointer he suffered in Wednesday's practice.
Kyle Shanahan had conceded to concern over the injury, labeling Bosa as "extremely limited".
But it is not severe enough to stop Bosa from playing, with the 2022 Defensive Player of the Year active as the 49ers look to win back-to-back games for the first time this season and improve to 5-4.
Wide receiver Deebo Samuel is also active despite rib and oblique issues, and fellow wideout Jauan Jennings makes his return after missing the last two games with a hip injury.
There will be a new face on the defensive line for this encounter, with defensive tackle Khalil Davis active having been acquired in a deadline day trade with the Houston Texans. Davis' presence mitigates the absence of Kevin Givens, who is out with a groin injury.
But it is Bosa who will take on the bulk of the pass rushing burden, and the 49ers can ill-afford to have him in any way hampered as they aim to build some momentum during a challenging stretch run that may well define their season.
