49ers: Nick Bosa 'can't wait' to terrorize NFL offenses with Javon Hargrave

It didn't take long for Javon Hargrave to hear from his new teammates once he became a member of the San Fransisco 49ers.
And it wasn't just anybody on the team: it was superstars Nick Bosa and Arik Armstead reaching out to the Pro Bowl defensive tackle.
"They introduced themselves and welcomed me in, I think, on the first day I signed," Hargrave told reporters Friday. "They both hit me up and congratulated me and told me they couldn't wait to be a part of this."
The excitement surrounding Hargrave's signing is palpable, to say the least. The 49ers already boasted one of the NFL's best pass rushes, but now, things are on a different level with Hargrave in the fold.
"Nick is the Defensive Player of the Year," Hargrave said as he lightly chuckled. "It frees up everybody else and it'll free me up a lot. [I'm ready] to be around the guys and just learn how they play the game and just try to pick their brains a little bit. That'll make me a better player, too."
The 49ers defensive line should be nicknamed "Nightmare Fuel" heading into 2023. Per Pro Football Focus, Hargrave and Bosa graded out as the third- and fifth-best pass rushers among players with at least 223 pass rush snaps out of a true pass set in 2022. Bosa recorded the second-most total pressures (56) and sacks (14.0), while Hargrave tied for the sixth-most pressures (46) and eighth-most sacks (10.0). Both players also finished top-10 when it comes to PFF's pass rush productivity metric.
And if PFF isn't your cup of tea then both players also finished in the top-10 at their respective positions when it comes to ESPN's pass rush win rate.
Hargrave is 30-years-old, but he's coming off his best season as a pro, which is scary in its own right. Things get even scarier, however, when you hear him say he came to San Fransisco in order to take his game to an even higher level.
"My old d-line coach, we watched the 49ers d-line a lot. Because that's the way you wanna play: just violent and upfield," said Hargrave. "So, you know, that's like the d-line dream, just to be relentless and disrupt everything.
"That was a big thing with me coming, too. Just knowing I can be a part of that and I can be more disruptive than I've been. I've heard the defensive line coach is a great coach and I want to take my game to another level."
Monitoring the 49ers front seven is going to be one of the biggest storylines heading into the regular season. If the quarterback situation was settled, then you better believe it would be the main story.
The unit is stacked. Not only do the 49ers have the three aforementioned players, but they also have Javon Kinlaw on the defensive line and Fred Warner and Dre Greenlaw on the second level.
That easily comprises the best front seven in the NFL. And if Clelin Ferrell can get his career on track (which if anyone can get him going it's 49ers defensive line coach Kris Kocurek), then the sky is literally limit.
it's easy to see why these guys are stoked to get started. It's also to see why the other 31 NFL teams aren't as excited.
