The San Francisco 49ers were obviously one of the NFL's best teams last year, despite all the turmoil at the quarterback position.

There's still some unknown heading into 2023. Kyle Shanahan and John Lynch both said Brock Purdy is the No. 1 guy if/when healthy, but Purdy may miss the first month of the season. Trey Lance and Sam Darnold are expected to split first-team reps in his stead, so it even remains to be seen what happens with that competition.

Regardless, Betonline.ag thinks the 49ers have the best chance at making the playoffs in 2023.

San Francisco's 83.3% chance is much higher than the second-place Cincinnati Bengals, Kansas City Chiefs, and Philadelphia Eagles, whom all have a 77.8% shot at a postseason berth.

It's a testament to Lynch's ability to build a roster and Shanahan's ability to coach/get the most out of his players. The team is not only (technically) unsettled at the most important position in professional sports, it lost its All-Star defensive coordinator and one of the league's most underrated assistant coaches in DeMeco Ryans and Bobby Slowik, respectively.

The fact the 49ers are above not just both Super Bowl teams, but the champs is pretty impressive, as well. Sure, the Chiefs lost both their starting tackles and two starting receivers, but they have plenty of draft ammo to use and showed the NFL last year that they can the most out of their rookie players, no matter the position.

Plus, they still have Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce. And Andy Reid.

Now, nothing is won in April, obviously. Things can quickly change. But, either way, it's an exciting time to be a 49ers fan and the possibilities are endless if the starting QB can ever stay upright.
