The San Francisco 49ers got back on track in Week 4 with a victory over the New England Patriots, albeit one that came without the Niners producing anywhere close to their best.
San Francisco clearly still has issues to resolve on both offense and special teams, while a defensive revival should be taken with a pinch of salt given it came against a very undermanned Patriots offense.
But the point spread for the 49ers' Week 5 clash with the Arizona Cardinals indicates a belief from oddsmakers that they will resolve their problems.
It is no surprise San Francisco is favored coming off a blowout win and going against a Cardinals team that was hammered at home by the Washington Commanders in Week 4.
But the 49ers' status as seven-point favorites, per DraftKings Sportsbook, suggests confidence they will find a way to put their red zone problems to bed and that the defense will be able to hold Kyler Murray and Co. in check.
The latter task may be easier said than done. The 49ers have traditionally struggled with dual-threat quarterbacks and could be without All-Pro linebacker Fred Warner after he suffered an ankle injury against the Patriots.
But the 49ers have won each of their last four meetings with the Cardinals. If they play to their standard, it should be five, and it's clear the oddsmakers have faith in them to do just that.
