Possible 49ers draft selection gushes over Trent Williams
Michigan center Olu Oluwatimi would love to play with Trent Williams.
Whether or not Michigan center Olu Oluwatimi will be a member of the San Francisco 49ers is still to be determined.
But that hasn't stopped him from dreaming about playing alongside Trent Williams — a professional whom he feels he can learn a thing or two from.
Early on Oluwatimi was in many mock drafts, but after the 49ers re-signed center Jake Brendel, the idea of having Oluwatimi in a 49ers jersey feels far off. Still, he can't help but think of what could be if the 49ers select him in April's NFL Draft.
"I remember because I grew up in Maryland. And that’s where the Commanders’ Stadium is, and all those long years he had with the Commanders. So, just seeing him play and then seeing how he even elevated his game into his 30s, now with the 49ers, and man, it’s just awesome," Oluwatimi said on the Niners Noise podcast.
"Being in the same room as Trent, it would be awesome if that happens. Because, I mean, he’s probably the premier offensive tackle, the premier offensive lineman in the National Football League right now, and he’s been doing it for a while."
He added: “If I had that opportunity to be in his room. Being able to pick his brain, see how he moves, see how he works, it’ll be awesome.”
San Francisco adding Oluwatimi to the mix with Williams there to teach him a few things would be a dream come true for the NFL hopeful. He's spent years watching him from afar. And in a few days, he may have the opportunity to learn from Williams up close.
