Despite losing cornerback Samuel Womack III to a meniscus injury that led him to be placed on injured reserve, the 49ers' roster remains in excellent shape for their Week 2 game with the Rams.

Womack's injury resulted in the 49ers elevating corner Tre Swilling from the practice squad.

Swilling, the son of former Saints great Pat Swilling, is active for the Niners, meaning he will make his regular-season NFL debut.

Here are the 49ers' inactives for the NFC West clash:

  • Third QB Brandon Allen
  • RB Tyrion Davis-Price
  • OL Nick Zakelj
  • DL Kalia Davis
  • LB Jalen Graham

Inactives observations

There are few surprises among the 49ers' inactives. All five of the players listed were inactive for San Francisco's dominant Week 1 win over the Steelers.

Late-round rookie linebackers Jalen Graham and Dee Winters each enjoyed impressive preseasons, however, Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles and practice squad linebacker Curtis Robinson were preferred to them last week.

Robinson was not elevated from the practice squad this week, though, clearing the way for one of that duo to make their regular-season debut

Graham had the better preseason, making it something of a surprise the 49ers have instead gone with Winters. However, Winters has the superior speed, making him a better bet to make an impact on special teams.

Also set to appear in a regular-season game for the first time is rookie tight end Brayden Willis, who is active after being left out of the season opener.
