Christian McCaffrey’s dominance in 49ers offense earns himself some NFL history during San Francisco’s latest NFC win
CMC is simply unstoppable right now.
NFL history is never something to sneeze at for players. That being said, San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey has eclipsed another accomplishment that sets him apart from every other RB in the history of the league when it comes to this particular era.

According to Tony Holzman-Escareno, the 49ers star playmaker has etched himself into the league’s history books once again. McCaffrey is the only player in the Super Bowl era to total 550+ rushing yards and 600+ receiving yards through the first nine games of a particular season. That’s incredible versatility and consistency.
The veteran running back has proven to be an iron man sort of athlete this season, while so many other pieces of the 49ers roster have dealt with notable ailments. Other weapons for Mac Jones or Brock Purdy have missed time and allowed CMC to grab an even larger role, but that has also allowed defenses to key in on him more often.
They haven’t been able to slow him down nearly enough, though. Instead, McCaffrey is on pace to set potential new career highs by the time the season finishes for San Francisco.
McCaffrey also has sixteen games with both a rushing and receiving touchdown. That’s the most in league history. There is no doubt that the injuries along the SF offense have helped him hit new heights this season, but he has always been one of the most impressive pass catching RBs in football for his entire pro career.
We will see if the 49ers try to add another offensive playmaker at the NFL trade deadline or not as well. Due to injuries, there are plenty of concerns about the depth on both sides of the football for the Niners. CMC isn’t one piece to the puzzle that anyone is concerned about, though.
