The San Francisco 49ers were dominating in the third quarter against the Philadelphia Eagles.
However, the Eagles were provided with a spark after an unnecessary loss of composure from linebacker Dre Greenlaw.
Greenlaw was ejected from the game after a sideline altercation in which he took a swing at the Eagles' head of security, who was also asked to leave the sideline.
It was huge error that followed a previous mistake from Greenlaw, who committed a personal foul when he slammed DeVonta Smith to the turf after his progress had been stopped.
The fouls set Philadelphia up at the 49ers' 12-yard line and, after converting a third and long, the Eagles scored on the tush push play with Jalen Hurts going in from a yard out.
Greenlaw's loss of cool gave life to a stadium that was beginning to feel flat. However, that energy was sucked away in spectacular fashion by Deebo Samuel on a 48-yard catch and run that put the 49ers up 28-13.
The 49ers lost a key player on defense, but the caliber of playmakers they have on offense may ensure Greenlaw's rush of blood does not cost them a crucial game in the NFC playoff race.
First-half observations as the 49ers lead the Eagles 14-6
They survived a rough start.
