Former NFL quarterback Cam Newton has not been one to shy away from offering his critique of San Francisco 49ers passer Brock Purdy.

Newton has regularly been attempting to downplay Purdy’s success with the 49ers. He most notably labeled the second-year passer a "game manager" and also called him the "10th best player" on San Francisco’s roster.

A multitude of former 49ers players have since responded to Newton’s criticism of Purdy, and Vernon Davis was the latest to pick apart the former NFL MVP winner’s such take.

"Cam Newton has his opinion," Davis said on 95.7 The Game’s "Steiny & Guru" show. "He can say what he wants. People can say that Cam was a product of a system. He didn't make the same impact later on in his career as early.

"I don't think Brock Purdy is a product of the system. He is the system."

Purdy has proven that he is far from a one-dimensional quarterback. From his sheer accuracy in pass attempts out of the pocket to his potent efficiency in downfield throws, Purdy sure has continued to silence critics.

Overall, Purdy has tallied 35 total touchdowns this season, including the playoffs.
