The San Francisco 49ers' season, in terms of their playoff hopes, ended before kickoff of their Week 16 matchup with the Miami Dolphins.

While the Niners may have nothing but pride to play for, All-Pro tight end George Kittle is still adding to his incredible resume.

Kittle has enjoyed another excellent individual campaign, and he put up 45 receiving yards in the first half against Miami to reach yet another milestone.

That tally took him to 7,180 for his career, Kittle surpassing future Hall of Famer Rob Gronkowski for the second-most by a tight end in his first eight seasons in NFL history.

Kittle trails only Travis Kelce (7,881) and, while the 49ers star will obviously not surpass his Kansas City Chiefs counterpart, his latest achievement is further illustration of why he will likely end up in Canton and is deserved reward for an excellent campaign that should result in another first-team All-Pro selection.

The 49ers trailed the Dolphins 13-10 at the half.
