The San Francisco 49ers are still waiting to get Nick Bosa and Trent Williams back in practice, but another of their best players is trending towards a return in Week 14 against the Chicago Bears.

After missing the Week 13 loss to the Buffalo Bills with a knee injury, cornerback Deommodore Lenoir practiced in full on Thursday, having returned in a limited capacity on Wednesday.

Lenoir plays an integral role in the 49er defensive backfield in occupying the slot on nickel downs and the outside corner role on base downs. While snowy conditions meant it was more of a night for running the ball in Buffalo last week, the 49ers struggled to replace Lenoir, using rookie Renardo Green, Isaac Yiadom and Nick McCloud in the slot.

While Lenoir's prospective return will allow the 49ers to have a more settled secondary this week against, the front remains in questionable shape, with Bosa once again missing practice with his hip/oblique injuries. The former Defensive Player of the Year's potential absence for a third straight game could be exacerbated by an injury to fellow defensive end Yetur Gross-Matos, who was limited on Thursday with a knee issue.

On the other side of the trenches, Williams was a non-participant in practice yet again because of his ankle injury.

Asked about his All-Pros at defensive end and left tackle, head coach Kyle Shanahan told KNBR: "They're making progress. I mean, they're getting better, but not good enough to practice. So, we're still giving them time, especially those two players. They've got two more days. Three, if we count right before kickoff.

"So, hopefully, they can turn the corner, and get better, and have a chance to go this Sunday. Wish they could have gone today [in practice], but they're still not there yet."

Along with Gross-Matos, George Odum was another addition to the injury report. The backup safety did not practice because of a knee injury.
