The San Francisco 49ers aim for depth with recent offensive lineman signing Matt Pryor, first announced by team general manager John Lynch Monday morning.

San Francisco is bringing Pryor in on a one-year contract, adding depth and versatility to the already sturdy 49ers front line.

"Colton is the guy right now," Lynch said on Monday. "We just signed Matt Pryor, a guy who has started some games in this league, but we like Colton. We have for a long time. His confidence, that game he filled in for Trent Williams, went in there and did a really good job as a left tackle, he has been a good swing tackle — Colton is a good player. He'll get a crack at that job. There will be a competition, but we're excited about him being able to man that job."

Pryor is a former sixth-round selection of the Philadelphia Eagles. He played his college ball at TCU.

To this point in his career, Pryor has started 24 of his 60-game appearances. In the past two seasons with the Colts, Pryor has accounted for 14 stars.

In 2022, Pryor played 362-of-576 total snaps at either tackle position. He allowed 31 pressures and six sacks in 388 pass-blocking snaps.

A 28-year-old native of Lakewood, CA, Pryor played at TCU for five years (2013-17), where he appeared in 46 games (32 starts) and earned Associated Press Second-Team All-Big-12 honors as a senior in 2017.
