The San Francisco 49ers booked their place in Super Bowl 58 and, as was the case way back in the 2012 season, they picked the most difficult route through which to achieve that feat.
San Francisco fought back from a 24-7 halftime deficit, incredibly scoring 27 unanswered points in the second half to prevail 34-31.
Their remarkable victory saw the 49ers equal the record for the largest comeback in NFC Championship Game history.
It matches a record set by themselves, the Niners having fought back from a 17-0 deficit against the Atlanta Falcons in the 2012 NFC Championship Game to prevail and reach Super Bowl 47, which they lost to the Baltimore Ravens in heartbreaking fashion.
In addition to matching their own record, San Francisco became only the second team to have multiple comebacks of seven points or more in the same postseason prior to reaching the Super Bowl, joining the 1994 San Diego Chargers.
San Francisco won't want to rely on being able to fight back in their Super Bowl matchup with a Kansas City Chiefs team that won't be so willing to surrender any advantage in a rematch of Super Bowl 54 from the 2019 season.
But for a team that has faced so many questions about their ability to play from behind, reaching the Super Bowl in such improbable fashion will surely make getting over the hump after two successive conference title game losses that much more satisfying.
