Brock Purdy finished the San Francisco 49ers' dramatic 23-20 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with a hugely impressive stat line.

Purdy went 25 of 36 for 353 yards and two touchdowns, earning a 119.3 quarterback rating.

However, Purdy was guilty of missing several throws, especially in the first half, and Tom Brady, serving as the color commentator for Fox, seemed to give the game away as to how he felt about the 49ers quarterback in the fourth quarter as he surpassed the 300-yard mark.

"That's the sneakiest 300 yards I've ever seen," Brady said.

Purdy promptly fumbled on the next play, though the 49ers were able to recover.

Despite Brady seemingly damning him with faint praise, Purdy answered the bell in the fourth quarter when the 49ers needed him.

Indeed, Purdy went 10 of 14 for 160 yards and a touchdown in the final frame, and was four of four for 39 yards on the game-winning drive.

Said head coach Kyle Shanahan of Purdy's display: "He did miss a few throws in the first half, but the way he bounced back in the second half was huge. Was awesome on the last drive."

Brady's comments are reflective of Purdy's position as one of the more polarizing quarterbacks in the NFL.

He will continue to have his supporters along with plenty of doubters, but there's no question he is a quarterback who is able to rise to the challenge when it matters most. Purdy did so to get the 49ers to the Super Bowl last season, and his prowess for performing in the clutch has San Francisco in position to potentially make a run down the stretch at 5-4.
