Trey Lance and Sam Darnold are currently splitting reps with the 1s while Brock Purdy recovers from UCL surgery and so far, things have been up-and-down.

Lance's day taking reps with the 1s certainly fit that mold. According to reports, Lance excelled during 7-on-7s, but struggled during 11-on-11 drills. During 11-on-11s, he threw a pass directly into the gut of defensive lineman Kerry Hyder Jr., who rumbled into the end zone for a pick-6. The Athletic's David Lombardi called Hyder Jr.'s pick-6 the "best play of minicamp", but obviously, Lance was on the wrong side of the action.

Obviously, it's still really early and this play literally has zero impact on how things shake out for both Lance and the 49ers in 2023. However, it's notable that Lance -as well as Darnold- were both largely ineffective during 11-on-11s. Quarterbacks are supposed to dominate 7-on-7s and fortunately, both of them did. But, a lot of success in 7-on-7s should also carry over into 11-on-11s, so the performances from both QBs will certainly be something to monitor very closely during training camp.
