Seattle Seahawks just got the best advice they could possibly get from the best person possible regarding new WR Rashid Shaheed
The Seattle Seahawks just traded with the New Orleans Saints for wide receiver Rashid Shaheed.
The Seattle Seahawks have a new weapon in town. Just before the trade deadline on Tuesday, Seattle traded for wide receiver Rashid Shaheed. He’s one of the fastest dudes in the league and has great experience on the return team when he was with the New Orleans Saints.
This offense in Seattle is one of the hottest in the league. When they aren’t beating themselves, they’re beating down almost any defense in front of them, as Sam Darnold and Jaxon Smith-Njigba both have cases for the MVP and Offensive Player of the Year Awards. Now they have another weapon. But, how do they use him?
Former Saints QB Derek Carr has the perfect advice for using Shaheed
When Shaheed was in New Orleans with the Saints, he wasn’t always used or thrown the ball to enough. But anyone can see that the guy is uber-talented. Derek Carr, the former Las Vegas Raiders and Saints quarterback, knew what to do best at times when it came to Shaheed.
“Just launch it, he will go get it,” Carr tweeted.
I guess that explains some of Carr’s interceptions — Shaheed couldn’t go get all of them. Nonetheless, Shaheed will be a great addition to the offense.
“For my money, Carr’s connection with Shaheed was arguably stronger than his with Chris Olave. Shaheed was more consistently on the same page as the veteran quarterback and made a killing on deep targets – particularly off play action. There were times, especially in Klint Kubiak’s offensive scheme, where the team was creating touches for Shaheed at every level of the field. I expect that to continue in Seattle. As for Carr’s reaction, it’s nice to see him have a positive reaction when it comes to something Saints-related. There have been plenty of questions about the finish of his tenure with New Orleans, but he certainly has a relationship and respect for Shaheed that extends even with both of them no longer wearing black and gold.” – Adam Holt, A to Z Sports New Orleans
Seattle GM John Schneider got a good weapon in Shaheed.
