The Seattle Seahawks are going into one of their most unique tests of the 2023 season.
While the Browns don't look all that scary on paper due to the lack of Deshaun Watson and their All-Pro running back, the best defense in football has done plenty to carry this team to an impressive 4-2 record.
If the Seahawks want to prove they can compete in the playoffs and fight with a team like the 49ers when it matters, Seattle will need to show up tomorrow and put up points against the Browns. That will start with overcoming Myles Garrett.
Outside of Patrick Mahomes, Myles Garrett looks like the best player in football right now. Garrett is certainly the best defensive player in the league, and some people are asking if that title should be across the league as a whole.
Regardless, Garrett is a force of nature on the field and is going to make life Hell for the Seahawks from the opening whistle tomorrow.
Seattle's offensive line, running backs, and any other blockers are going to have to put together their best game of the season just to slow Garrett down, and all that does is open up additional lanes for other pass rushers that can hurt Seattle in their own ways.
The Seahawks will have to get the quick game going as soon as possible to keep Garrett from getting chances to tee off against Geno Smith, but again, this is less a conversation of neutralizing and more a discussion of slowing down.
No part of this is going to be easy, but this should be one of the most important tests for the Seahawks this season. If they can go out and score at will against this unit, the future is very bright in Seattle. They just have to find a way to deal with one of the most disruptive forces in the sport.
